Since 1977 Clinton Vineyards, in the tradition of the premier European estates, has chosen to specialize in growing Seyval Blanc, a French American grape, from which Estate Bottled white wine, dessert wine and sparkling wines–made in the time-honored méthode champenoise. The Seyval Blanc has been described as having a Chablis-type raciness and often compared with Sancerre. The wines have received rave reviews from the New York Times and other publications. The portfolio includes a stunning array of dessert wines. The Cassis, an elegant black currant dessert wine is the only wine in New York State to win gold medals and Best In Class at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition.
